Travelling by an autorickshaw might be dearer from Wednesday, December 1. Passengers should shell out ₹30 for the primary 2 kms and ₹15 for each km thereon.
Three weeks in the past, the regional transport authority had revised the fare with impact from December 1.
As per the revised fare, the evening fare — between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. — would be the new minimal fare plus half of that.
The ready fare after the primary 5 minutes might be ₹5 per quarter-hour, and the bags fare might be free as much as 20 kg, and ₹5 per 20 kg over that. The utmost baggage weight is 50 kg.
Auto drivers have time until February 2022 to re-calibrate their digital meters as per the revised fare. Until then, drivers should show a chart of the revised fare and acquire the relevant fare from the passengers.
