The State has taken steps to rehabilitate deserted mentally in poor health individuals, says Centre
Tamil Nadu was on Friday awarded the perfect State for selling empowerment of individuals with disabilities (PwD) within the Centre’s annual national-level awards for the incapacity sector.
Together with the State, a number of people, NGOs and authorities departments had been handed over the 2020 awards by President Ram Nath Kovind at a ceremony right here on Worldwide Day of PwD.
Within the award quotation issued by the Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry, Tamil Nadu was honoured for “focusing its consideration in taking over and implementing programmes/schemes for the rehabilitation and empowerment of individuals with disabilities”. The State had given the best Funds allocation for the division involved with PwD, issued 13.35 lakh incapacity certificates and granted recognition to 382 particular colleges run by NGOs, the quotation stated.
