Vigilance sleuths have performed searches at 69 locations linked to Mr. Thangamani on December 15, 2021
Officers from the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption began searches at 14 locations in Salem, Namakkal, and Erode on December 20 morning in relation to the corruption case registered towards former Electrical energy Minister P. Thangamani, his son Dharanidharan and spouse Shanthi. The searches, the second time in 5 days, started at round 6:30 am.
In Salem, searches are on on the residence of a hotelier Okay. Manikandan close to Thiruvagoundanur bypass. In line with official sources, searches are on at 10 locations in Namakkal, together with enterprise premises of PSK. Periyasamy, a public works contractor. Searches are being performed at three locations in Erode.
Vigilance sleuths had on December 15 conducted searches at 69 places linked to Mr Thangamani in relation with a disproportionate belongings case registered towards them. The minister and his members of the family have been accused of accumulating belongings to the tune of ₹4.85 crores, disproportionate to their recognized sources of earnings.
