Former Karnataka Speaker Ramesh Kumar, whose flippant touch upon rape on the ground of the Home on December 16 had drawn flak, has apologised.
In a tweet, he stated: “I want to categorical my honest apologies to everybody for the detached and negligent remark I made in at the moment’s meeting about rape. My intention was to not trivialise or make mild of the heinous crime, however a casual comment! I’ll select my phrases rigorously henceforth!”
On December 16, when Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri expressed helplessness about not with the ability to curtail the lengthy speeches of members, Mr. Kumar had stated, “There’s a saying…when rape is inevitable, lie down and luxuriate in it. That’s the state of affairs you might be in too.”
