Vice-Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta assumed cost because the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (FOC-in-C), Jap Naval Command (ENC) at a formidable ceremonial parade held on the Naval Base in Visakhapatnam on December 1.
Vice-Admiral Dasgupta inspected the Ceremonial Guard and reviewed platoons of naval personnel drawn from numerous ships and institutions of the ENC. The ceremony was attended by all Flag Officers and Commanding Officers of ships, submarines and institutions.
Vice-Admiral Dasgupta is an alumnus of Nationwide Defence Academy. He was commissioned into the Indian Navy in 1985 and is a specialist in Navigation and Course. He’s a graduate of Defence Companies Command and Workers Faculty, Bangladesh; Military Warfare Faculty, Mhow; and Nationwide Defence Faculty, New Delhi.
He has commanded 4 frontline ships together with the missile corvettes similar to INS Nishank and INS Karmuk, stealth frigate INS Tabar and the plane provider INS Viraat.
He has held different operational, coaching and employees appointments similar to Commander Work Up at Headquarters at Indian Naval Work up Crew (Kochi), Directing Workers on the Defence Companies Workers Faculty (Wellington), Officer-in-Cost of the Navy’s Navigation and Course Faculty, Naval Assistant to the Chief of the Naval Workers and Fleet Operations Officer of the Western Fleet.
On promotion to Flag Rank, he was appointed as Chief Workers Officer (Operations) at Headquarters, Western Naval Command at Mumbai. Throughout 2017-18, he held command of the distinguished Jap Fleet at Visakhapatnam and was thereafter appointed as Further Director Normal at NCC Headquarters, New Delhi. On promotion to the rank of Vice-Admiral, he was appointed because the Controller Personnel Companies at Built-in Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) at New Delhi from June 2019 to June 2020.
The Flag Officer is a recipient of the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and Vishisht Seva Medal for distinguished service. He was additionally awarded the Yudh Seva Medal for coordinating evacuation operations from strife-torn Yemen in 2015 underneath Operation Raahat.
Vice-Admiral Dasgupta was the Chief of Workers, Jap Naval Command since June 2020 previous to being elevated because the Commander-in-Chief.
